Director

Jan-Hendrik Swiegers, established the Swieg Group after he completed a Project Management Course at the Stellenbosch Business School. Drawing on his 13 years of experience in the construction and development industry, Swiegers founded the group on the principle of combining the key competencies required to deliver high-quality properties to satisfied customers

Rudolf van Graan

Director

Partnering Swiegers is Rudolf van Graan, an experienced legal advisor with expert knowledge of construction dispute resolution, the drafting of construction and professional services contracts and the procurement and tender documents. Rudolf is a B.Comm (Law) and LLB graduate (Stellenbosch University) and advises a wide variety of clients as well as participating as a party representative in construction industry dispute resolution proceedings including litigation, arbitration, adjudication and mediation.

We were impressed from the beginning with their honesty and openness regarding ALL aspects of the process. This was a great comfort to us as we were warned by friends that building a house is not easy and if you are not knowledgeable you could be taken for a ride. We were assisted with and connected to names and telephone numbers of firms on everything from building materials to bathroom accessories, tiles, flooring and carpentry. We were given wide choices on about every aspect regarding the plans, layout and structuring of the house and had numerous opportunities to talk to the architect and the builders themselves. A positive aspect was the building contractor who was on site literally every day and we could contact him whenever we wanted to discuss progress as well as last minute changes we wanted to make – even while the building process was going on.

If moving house is one of the top 3 most stressful events in a person’s life, building a new home must rank within the next 5. Unless you have the type of personality and skills that can cope with the pressure of doing it yourself and you possess the hide of a rhino, the most logical way to make life easier is to appoint a competent team to do the work for you. This is where Swieg Group comes in. It is a long process and there were issues and hurdles, each of which were handled competently and professionally. More importantly, they were completed to our total satisfaction. All subsequent matters were dealt with immediately. Swieg has lived up to it moto of being in with its clients for the long haul. The ultimate accolade though is that Swieg has put us into a really beautiful home in a great estate.

I can only commend your company for the manner in which this project has been seen through to completion by yourselves and your management team. We are only too aware of the pressure we exerted on your company to secure occupation certificates from both the Drakenstein Municipality and the Val de Vie Home Owners Association before the 2017 December builders close – a mere 8 months after having started the project. You managed to do this for us – facilitating a long awaited family holiday in the new home over the 2017 New Year. For this we were, and still are, extremely grateful.
